Every time I see a VC take on Personal AI and how they will work for India - I'm amazed at how disconnected they are from the reality. The joke about Bangalore market fit is often true. Some fact checks: - Less than 5% of Indians take a flight once a year (~7 Crore people) - The average Indian household (beyond the metros) doesn't have full time help, maids, cooks, etc. - Household responsibilities are not as evenly shared as we would expect in an egalitarian world - 28 Crore Indians actively pay EMIs (proxy for financial agent needs) - India2 primarily uses smartphones for entertainment (after WA for everything) AI for Personal Productivity is a no-go IMHO - Vernacular AI makes a lot of sense but mostly remains knowledge search or entertainment/learning. - India has 20 Lac (pvt ltd) and 5 Lac (LLPs) active companies. (proxy for business agents market beyond the SP/HUF and unregistered businesses) - LARGE majority of SMBs and Entrepreneurs don't employ a full time knowledge worker or accountant (~ remember Khata apps era)
